Fence Line Survey
Boundary Re-Establishment or Repeg

When do I require a Boundary Re-Establishment Survey or Repeg?

This service is required at the end of the process before constructing any new fencing or retained walls. The Dividing Fences Act stipulates what your entitlements are regarding your boundaries and the routes to follow to ensure you stay within the legal guidelines surrounding the act.

A Licenced Surveyor will perform the necessary survey to establish your boundary locations. These boundary points are usually represented by wooden pegs in the ground with a steel plate on top held on by a nail. This nail in theory will represent the end of the line where your boundaries intersect and a number on each side will represent the numbers of the lots sharing this boundary. If we are unable to place pegs we may place offset pegs or place pen marks on the fence lines.

When the survey has been completed the licenced surveyor will create a sketch on A4 document which shows the details of the survey and what was identified on the day. This document is then signed by the surveyor and is a legally binding document which can be used in court.

A Licenced Surveyor is the only person that can conduct a boundary repeg survey. For information on our Licenced Surveyor and his practicing registration number please feel free to ask prior to engaging us for any survey requiring licenced work.
